The Senoia Gazebo Park is our clubs signature project.
The gazebo and park are the centerpiece of downtown Senoia and located directly across the street from Senoia Coffee & Café - the club's meeting place.
Our club is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the gazebo and the gazebo park, which includes planting flowers, hanging baskets, mulch, weeding, pruning of the shrubbery and painting of the gazebo. During the summer months, we also take turns watering the flowers.
This year, one work day was held on August 18, 2014 - to spruce up the area before Labor Day. Twelve members participated in the event. It took about an hour with this many working to prune and pull weeds.
The second work day was October 20, 2014. Eight members participated on this day for three hours. We replaced summer annuals with winter annuals, pruned, weeded, and spread mulch. The club purchased the pansies that were planted - mulch was provided by a club member.
We plan to hold a third work day in late April, once the threat of frost has passed to replace the winter annuals with summer annuals, mulch, and weed.
