Laws of Life Essay Contest

The Rotary Club of Griffin for the past 10 years has sponsored the Georgia Laws of Life Essay Contest. Members of the club volunteer to judge essays and the club financially sponsors the contest at Griffin High School and AZ Kelsey .

Students who participate in the Laws of Life Essay Contest select a saying that is a "Law of Life" and use that saying to examine and write about key life lessons and core character values such as honesty, generosity, courage, compassion and perseverance. The contest reflects Rotary's emphasis on values, high ethical standards and service to others.

The Rotary Club of Griffin is a Silver Sponsor for the contest and Griffin Rotarian Stephanie Windham is a past chairman of the board of directors of the contest and Griffin Rotarian George Granade is past secretary of the board of directors. Griffin Rotarian Natalie Marshall currently serves on the board.

Because the contest takes place in the winter and spring, Rotarians will be judging essays in the spring of 2021. The club will recognize the local grade-level and school wide winners in the May of 2021.
